Bernitsas Law Culture Journeys 2024 Vol.3 : Visit to the ΕΜΣΤ – National Museum of Contemporary Art

Bernitsas Law's Cultural Journeys continued with a visit to the ΕΜΣΤ - National Museum of Contemporary Art. Colleagues and their families were treated to a captivating exploration of thought-provoking art, diving into the world of the 'What if Women Ruled the World' Exhibition.

Guided by Theofilos Traboulis, Publications Advisor and Eleni Koukou, Collection Advisor, we had the pleasure of exploring the diverse works of renowned female artists such as Leda Papaconstantinou, Chryssa Romanos, Danai Anesiadou, Malvina Panagiotidi, Claudia Comte, and many others.

From December 2023 to November 2024, the National Museum of Contemporary Art (ΕΜΣΤ) presents a cycle of exhibitions, in four parts, exclusively dedicated to the work of women artists or artists who identify as female, under the broader umbrella title, What if Women Ruled the World? Initiated by EMΣT artistic director Katerina Gregos and inspired by Yael Bartana’s 2017 neon work, this exhibition is based on an often-repeated hypothetical question: What would happen if governance was characterised by female traits?

The ΕΜΣΤ excursion provided a valuable opportunity for reflection and discourse, inviting attendees to contemplate the intersection of gender, power, and creativity through the lens of contemporary art.
